Back in June 2017, I took a risk in starting this website. It was an idea I bounced around for a few months in the back of my mind. I spoke to a few friends and colleagues about it too. I had zero clue what I was getting myself into or if I would continue doing this beyond the first few weeks. Low and behold, I am still here.
I have to say I thoroughly enjoy writing these posts for you. I truly believe that my passion lies in the mental health field and helping others. These posts are another way to spread knowledge, provide techniques, and share stories that might help someone. I want to say thank you for those of you who read these blog posts as well. You provide me with motivation to keep writing.
We were even able to expand the site to start selling self-care kits after seeing the success of the giveaways on our social media. *Insert shameless plug* If you want to check those out, go to caringcounselor.blog/self-care-kits
With that being said, I have some exciting news to share. I will be reviving The Caring Counselor podcast in the coming weeks. If you tuned into it before, it was geared towards self-care techniques and often went along with blog posts that were being put out on this site. I decided to take a different approach with it this time around however. The podcast will be focused on individuals who have struggled with their mental health and sharing their stories of recovery. I already have some exciting guests lined up to discuss eating disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and addiction.
I will be sharing the podcasts on our social media primarily, but will try to keep it updated through the website as well. If you want to check out updates on the podcast, please be sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter by searching “The Caring Counselor.”
If you would be interested in partaking in the podcast, writing a post for the site, or have a topic that you think should be covered, please feel free to reach out to me as well. You can reach me through caringcounselor.blog/contact or message me through our social media.
