For those of you who don’t know, it is national novel writing month a.k.a. NaNoWriMo. Now, I do not plan on writing a novel per se, but I have always wanted to try writing every day during the month of NaNoWriMo as an exercise.
I honestly didn’t even realize that it started yesterday until after I posted on my blog. One of my friends who does it religiously each year posted it on her Facebook.
Since I already posted yesterday and on the first of the month, fuck it. I might as well keep going with it. I’ve been wanting to be more consistent with posting on here anyhow rather than my sporadic posts every week or two when I feel like it. This could be a great opportunity to make up for all of those missed weeks and breath some hope back into my 2021 New Year’s Resolution to post at least once a week.
This is also my chance to further develop my writing as a reflective space and coping skill. Writing didn’t always bring me a sense of peace, especially in school, because I often was forced to write about a particular, disinteresting topic. Now that I have free reign to write about whatever I want, this has become a safe space to reflect, develop insight, and share my thoughts in hope of helping others.
So let’s see what I conjure up over the next 28 days of November. Here’s to NaNoWriMo.
