This morning I woke up to a long-forgotten feeling.
The sun peered just over the horizon and let its early morning shine into the bedroom. Along with this dim light came in the sound of short, melodic chirps. Barely tapping into these two sense was enough to stir me. With one eye open a slit, I could see that my girlfriend was sleeping cuddled up next to me with my arm around her.
I closed my eyes and embraced this feeling. It felt like something out of a movie. The sunrise. The birds. The comfort. I sat with this feeling and took it in. It had been so long since I sat back and just let myself be in a heartstruck moment.
It just felt right.
